| WELCOME TO THE 2008 PREMIERSHIP SOCCER PROGRAM
Welcome to the 2008 soccer season. It’s an exciting year for our Premiership program as we have scheduled all home games on the UNB artificial turf field. Teams will also practice on the turf once a week with the remaining weekly practice on a grass field.
George Lucas, Soccer NB Provincial Keeper Coach, will once again provide high performance keeper training to the designated keepers of Premiership and Division 1. Training will take place once a week at no additional charge. FDSA hosted several keeper training sessions for all FDSA members throughout the winter and all in attendance found it very beneficial.
FDSA was proud to host NBSL U12 – U16 Provincials during the Labour Day weekend in 2007. Games for U12 were held at Waterloo Row Fields and U14 & U16 were played at Nashwaaksis Middle School. All FDSA premiership teams finished in the top four and competed in provincials, with U14 Boys representing our province at Nationals in Newfoundland in October. U18 Girls and Boys vied for provincial championships in August in Moncton, with our U18 Boys representing our province at the Sony Cup U18 Nationals here in Fredericton. Many thanks to all volunteers who helped during these two major events.
PREMIERSHIP & DIVISION I TRY-OUT SCHEDULE
A pre-competitive Premiership and Division I Parents/Players
information meeting will be held on Tuesday, March
18th at the Fredericton Inn at 7:00 pm.
All players (including returning players) and parents
must attend. Program information
reviewed before breaking off into individual sessions where coaches
will make a presentation to their groups. This will
be a good time to answer any questions you may have
regarding the Premiership and Division 1 program.
Premiership tryouts will begin the week of March 31st with final team selection by April 28th. Tryouts will be held on the turf one weeknight and each Saturday during the month of April (8 tryouts total). Any player interested in trying out for Premiership MUST be registered prior to the first tryout as there will be no on-site registration. Players who have not registered prior to the first tryout will not be able to participate until they have registered. Registration can be done by mail, in person at the FDSA office or online through Service New Brunswick.
Please note: All players must be registered with the FDSA
no later than Saturday, March 29th. Registrations will not be accepted on site the first day of tryouts. Please refer to the registration section for
registration information. If a player is not registered – they will not be able to participate in tryouts.
